VESSELS AND DISHES - ANDI GUT AND PETER BAUHUIS

Andi Gut and Peter Bauhuis
Correspondences - Vessel and Dishes
12.9. – 19.10.13 Galerie Biró, Munich

OPENING: SEPT. 12, 18.00H

Vessels and Dishes: jewellery and objects, both transmitting and receiving, carefully made and preciously exhibited by the true friends and real colleagues Andi Gut and Peter Bauhuis
There are many similarities in form and function between everyday vessels and dishes and certain astronomic devices (called dishes as well). Thinking about the idea of transmitting and receiving includes to have a look to the two-way interaction between objects/jewellery and their viewer/wearer.

Andi Gut‘s dishes are a collection of large necklaces from nylon and metal. The title refers to those formal analogies as well as to the origin of the recycled metals he uses.

Peter Bauhuis exhibits 30 bowls, also titled dishes; they appear to look into the world. The outcome of a series of ‘experiments’ in which different metal alloys are simulta- nously cast within one mould, they reveal extraordinary colours and patterns.
His orifice brooches, rings and chains are staring at us like curious beings, aren‘t they receiving our reactions in the same time?

The exhibition includes new collaboratives work by Andi and Peter.
